I have a feeling that this may be the page of the blog that changes quite frequently. Our “story” is complex (as you might expect it to be) and hard to sum up in a couple of paragraphs. As God grows our heart for our child in Ethiopia, our story evolves. And as our story evolves…well…we’ll update this I guess.
We decided, after years of prayer and planning, to adopt last fall. After a lot of research, more prayer, and meeting with other families that had gone through the international adoption process we decided to start our journey. And our hearts landed in Ethiopia.
The name “lifted from the water” comes from the story of Moses. His mother had to abandon him to save him, and he was drawn from the water…to become a member of a family…one of God’s first adoption stories.
The child grew, and she brought him to Pharaoh’s daughter and he became her son. And she named him Moses, and said, “Because I drew him out of the water.” - Exodus 2:10
